🐾Chinook & Apache - The dogs who inspired it all…

This is a heartfelt creation inspired by two pit bulls who continue to shape the way I see love, strength, and second chances.

Chinook and Apache are more than dogs — they are my lifeline and my saving grace. They are protectors, teachers, and proof that unconditional love knows no labels. Over the last 10 years, they’ve stood by me during some of the hardest times one could endure and never faltered. They’ve taught me what it truly means to be seen for who you are, not what the world assumes you to be. Through the years, I’ve come to understand just how misunderstood this breed is — and how deeply they deserve our advocacy.

What began as Chinook & Apache Clothing Co. grew into something more: Pits & Prints, a brand dedicated to changing perceptions and celebrating the powerful bond we share with these dogs. Chinook and Apache are the heartbeat behind every design — living proof that when love leads the way, change follows. And while they’re here continuing to inspire me every single day, my hope is that their legacy will keep making a difference for pit bulls long after.

Our Mission

Today, pit bull-type dogs make up nearly one-third of all dogs in U.S. shelters, with hundreds of thousands waiting for homes. Tragically, as many as 1,200 pit bulls are euthanized every single day—not because they are unlovable, but because there simply aren’t enough adopters willing to give them a second chance. Behind every number is a life that deserved better—a story that could have been rewritten with love.

At its core, Pits & Prints is about changing perceptions—one print at a time. Every design, every shirt, and every accessory carries a message of love and respect for pit bulls, highlighting the strength, loyalty, and heart these dogs bring to every home lucky enough to welcome them. We know pit bulls are often judged unfairly, stigmatized for the actions of others, and denied the chance to show their true nature.

Through our prints, we aim to challenge those misconceptions and replace fear with understanding. Each piece represents a stand for rescue, a voice for advocacy, and a pledge to ensure that every pit bull has the opportunity to be loved and cherished. We aim to partner with rescue organizations, share stories of triumph, and celebrate the heroes—both human and canine—who make the world a safer, kinder place. By wearing our designs, our community becomes part of a larger mission: to create awareness, inspire change, and champion a breed that is too often misunderstood.
